AIDS ACTION NOW! - Meet the Minister of Health / Seven Months and No New AIDS/HIV Initiatives! / Will the NDP Really Make a Difference?
Description
An account of the resource
An AIDS ACTION NOW! flyer promoting a meeting with Evelyn Gigantes, Minister of Health under the NDP regime.
The flyer states:
"The NDP's campaign rhetoric promised positive changes to the healthcare system for people living with AIDS and HIV. Seven months later, the NDP government has failed to take any new AIDS/HIV initiatives. People living with AIDS and HIV have demanded that the provincial government produce a coordinated health policy which guarantees full funding of, and equal access to, treatments for AIDS and HIV. We're still waiting..."
The event took place at 8pm on Tuesday, March 19th, 1991. It was co-sponsored by: AIDS ACTION NOW!, AIDS Committee of Toronto, Black Coalition for AIDS Prevention, Casey House Hospice, Gay Asians AIDS Project, Gays and Lesbians of the First Nations, Hassle Free Clinic, Ontario AIDS Foundation, Prostitutes Safe Sex Project, Toronto HIV Primary Care Physicians Group, Toronto PWA Foundation, Women and AIDS Project.
